On 7th of April we are celebrating World’s Health Day – a global initiative which especially nowadays, encourages all people around the world to unite their efforts in a challenge of such a crucial significance.
Every year, on World’s Health Day, special attention is devoted on a particular topic determined by the world Health Organization (WHO) with which it is committed and the medical community calls for collective actions to protect people’s health while aiming at securing a bright and stable future for all generations.
We are facing an extreme challenge of the round-the-clock battle for human life and health and we will never step back in the fight against COVID -19. In the name of our common mission – to build a fairer and healthier world and ensure a better tomorrow for each human being, the World Health Day has its new meaning.
That day, when people’s health became a priority, special praise and recognition for their utmost professionalism, fighting spiring and tireless work in the fight against the pandemic and all sanitary challenges was given to all medical staff and professionals around the globe and SEEMF’s Board members by the President of the South East European Medical Forum – Assoc. Prof. Andrey Kehayov, MD.
He also deeply thanked all participants from 25 different countries who took part in the Solidarity Fund created by the SEEMF, in support of doctors and medical staff from South Eastern Europe in the fight against the pandemic. The donation campaign was actively supported by all philanthropists around the world – SEEMF Board members, business, foundations, health funds which raised more than 300 000 BGN in order to provide protective medical equipment – face masks, protective wears, hand sanitizers, etc. for hospitals and medical staff for all Member States of the organization thus helping to ensure the safety of doctors and medical personnel from the front line in the daily battle with the pandemic.
On the World Health Day, the mission and the cause of the organization of doctors from South East Europe has become part of the mission and cause of medical organizations worldwide, because – Only together we can make change.
