NINTH INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL CONGRESS / 6-9 September 2018 Banja Vrucica, Teslic, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Ninth International Medical Congress was organized in cooperation with the Association of Medical Doctors of Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The main scientific topics were: Cardio and Vascular Diseases/ Hypertention and Related Disorders, Syrgery, Pediatric Surgery, Reproductive Health, Oncology, Diabetes, Prevention of Infectious Diseases (Vacsination), Neurology and Psyhological Trauma and Mental Illness, Varia – Mass Non-Contigious Diseases, Emergency Condition. The Round Table was dedicated to the “Organization and Problems of Healthcare in Southeast East European Countries”, “Ethics and Moral of the Medical Profession”.
The Congress was accredited with 16 European credits (CME) by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and thanks to the cooperation of the Association of the Medical Doctors of Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina the Congress was one of the most prominent scientific events in the region. The forum was attended by over 400 participants from 18 countries from Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Greece, Serbia, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia, Russia, Montenegro, Belarus, Latvia, Germany, Belgium, Japan. More than 60 multidisciplinary eminent lecturers – scientists and physicians presented their reports with new findings in the field of professional and scientific medicine. The organization system, structure and the healthcare problems in Southeast East European Countries, the ethics and moral of the medical profession were the main accents in the round table discussions. The President of the World Medical Association – Dr Yoshitake Yokokura, The Minister of Health of Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina – Dr. Dragan Bogdanic, Dr. Bernard Maillet – Vice President of CPME, Mrs Avgustina Tzvetkova – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Bosnia and Herzegovina were among the official guests of the Congress.
Within the Congress the SEEMF’s Board meeting was held. Three new Board members – Dr. Stepan Firstov – Russia, Dr. Aleksandar Mugosa – Montenegro, Prof. Miroslav Kopjar – Croatia were anonymously elected. The President of SEEMF Assoc. Prof. A.Kehayov reported on SEEMF’s international activities and its members participation in the WMA’s “209th Council Session”, Annual EFMA Meeting,”5th Congress of Medical Doctors of Republic of Srpska”.
The traditional award nomination for Outstanding Physician of Southeast Europe was approved. Dr Yositake Yokokura – President of WMA and Dr Bernard Maillet – Vice President of the Standing Committee of European Doctors were awarded for their “Distinguished contribution for the development of international medical collaboration”.
