I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New 2019!
I hope that the jubilee year of our organisation will bring all of us unforgettable moments together!
I would like to remind you that during the Ninth International Medical Congress of SEEMF in Banja Vrucica, Bosnia &. Herzegovina you awarded me with the privilege of holding our Tenth Anniversary SEEMF Congress in Sofia, Bulgaria. Sofia is one of the oldest European cities as it was found 2 500 years ago. Its natural beauty and vastly rich cultural and historical heritage make it one of the European capitals with tourists from all over the world.
Ten years ago, driven by enthusiasm and a yearning for knowledge, we began organizing the first scientific meeting without being certain whether this was going to be a successful engagement or not. However, after a decade has passed, I can proudly state that together we have experienced an unforgettable exchange of medical practice, valuable knowledge and personal friendship. Today the commitment to our efforts brings satisfaction – we witness constantly growing number of participants, prominent lecturers and growing member-organizations in the Southeast European Medical Forum. The high level of interest to our multidisciplinary Congresses truly reflects its worldwide importance to the medical science and practice. Our association has become one of the most outstanding professional societies and a reputable partner to other European and International Associations.
What we noticed during the years, was that most of the countries in the Southeastern part of Europe have similar healthcare systems and experience similar problems in the field of quality of care, professional approaches, medical standards, migration of health professionals and institutional cooperation. This is why the Scientific Programme of the Tenth Anniversary Congress of SEEMF is structured to create a comprehensive series of eminent speakers with academic and practical compliments, covering almost entire fields of clinical and translational medicine. During the planned symposia and working groups, new findings will be presented and discussed, which I hope will provide opportunities to establish new understanding of the medical science and practice in all aspects for the best of our patients and will help us to acquire the adequate skills to answer the current challenges for a healthier world.
It would be a true honour for me to welcome you in Bulgaria and give you the opportunity to enjoy the Bulgarian hospitality and cuisine with our best dishes and delicious wine. We have planned a marvellous social programme for you including the sites of the ancient Tracian Culture and Gold treasures and the city of Plovdiv – one of the oldest cities in the world and the oldest living city in Europe, nominated for European Capital of Culture for 2019.
I would be expecting you at the Tenth Anniversary International Medical Congress of SEEMF!
