At a personal invitation of the Secretary General of the European Forum of Medical Associations – Mrs. Leah Wapner, Assoc. Prof. Dr Andrey Kehayov – President of the South Eastern European Medical Forum, is the Bulgarian participant in the regular Annual Meeting of the European Forum of Medical Associations 31st May – 1st June 2018, Baku, Azerbaijan. The meeting is organized in cooperation with the Azerbaijan Medical Association.
The agenda of the session includes plenary sessions discussions on issues in the areas of Health Insurance, Primary Health Care and Family Medicine, Workforce Planning in Healthcare Institutions, Postgraduate Qualification and Training of Medical Staff.
Within the first working day of the event, reports were presented by Dr. Jacques de Haller- President of the Standing Committee of European Doctors, who will introduce the organization of the health insurance system in Switzerland, Dr. Ramin Parsa Parsi – Department of the Medical Association of Germany, Dr. Andreas Rudkjobing – President of the Medical Association of Denmark. Member of the Latvian Medical Association will present the experience of the Latvian family doctors that have become the basis of the successful healthcare system reforms in Latvia.
The Medical Associations from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Poland and Ukraine will present reports on the activities of their organizations, The Special Adviser to the President of the World Federation for Medical Education – Prof. Janet Grant will report on the “Role of Professional Organizations and Regulatory Authorities for the continuing professional development of the medical specialists.
Within the meeting Assoc. Prof. Dr. Andrey Kehayov will inform the participants on the SEEMF’s forthcoming activities and goals during 2018 and will appeal the delegates and members of their organizations to attend the most important annual event of the organization – the Ninth International Medical Congress of SEEMF which will be held from 6th-9th September 2018 in Teslić, Banya Vrucića, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Assoc. prof. Andrey Kehayov will hold bilateral meetings with the members of the international and national medical organizations and will discuss the existing problems in their healthcare systems, will exchange valuable experience and opinions.
